Orlando Bloom's Boxing Drama 'The Cut' to Stream on Paramount+ (Exclusive)
The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive scoop on the upcoming release of 'The Cut', a boxing drama starring Orlando Bloom. Directed by Sean Ellis, the film is set for a post-theatrical launch on Paramount+ on November 1st, following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024.
'The Cut' follows an Irish boxer (Bloom) who finds himself back at his hometown gym after his fighting career hits a plateau. When a chance to prove himself in the ring arises, he takes extreme measures to rapidly shed weight.
The cast also includes Caitríona Balfe, John Turturro, Gary Beadle, and Clare Dunne. Ellis directed the film from a script by Justin Bull, with Mark Lane credited for the story. Producers include Bloom, Lane, Leonora Darby, James Harris, Adam Karasick, Bret Saxon, and Thomas Fanning.
Bloom's recent projects include the Amazon MGM Studios action-comedy 'Deep Cover' and an upcoming role opposite Pete Davidson and Naomi Scott in David Michôd's 'Wizards!'.
In a previous interview with THR, Bloom discussed his approach to choosing roles at this stage of his career. He stated, 'I want to push boundaries and take on challenging roles that will terrify me. I'm not afraid of anything anymore. If a role demands that I step out of my comfort zone, I'm all in.'
